This study aims to determine the strategy used in translating metaphors in the novel The Fault in Our Stars in Bahasa Indonesia. The theory used in this analysis is theory of translation strategy of metaphor by Larson (1998). The assessment of translation quality, especially the accuracy of the translation uses instrument of translation accuracy model by Silalahi with modification (2012). Data collection methods used in this study consists of the analysis of documents to obtain the data of metaphor and a questionnaire to obtain the accuracy of the translation of metaphors. This analysis is presented in the form of sentences that contain metaphorical expressions. Analysis is presented in two aspects, namely the metaphor analysis and assessment of the accuracy of the translation.

The results show that from 65 data there are four strategies used in the translation of metaphors, 39 metaphors (60%) are translated into the same metaphors, 11 metaphors (16.92%) are translated into another metaphors, 9 data (13.85%) metaphors are translated into simile, and 6 metaphors (9.23%) are translated into non-figurative expressions. The most dominant translation strategy applied by the translator is metaphor translated into the same metaphors.

Assessment result from the three raters show that the accurate translation 85.16%, less accurate 14.1% and inaccurate 0.74%. Penelitian ini terbatas pada analisis metafora dengan merujuk pada terjemahan novel bahasa Inggris berjudul The Fault in Our Stars yang diterjemahkan dalam bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi yang diterapkan dalam menerjemahkan metafora dalam novel The Fault in Our Stars ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Teori yang digunakan dalam analisis ini adalah teori strategi penerjemahan oleh Larson (1998). Penilaian kualitas terjemahan khususnya keakuratan terjemahan menggunakan model instrumen pengukur tingkat keakuratan terjemahan oleh Silalahi (2012) dengan modifikasi. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari analisis dokumen untuk memperoleh data metafora dan kuesioner untuk mendapatkan data tentang keakuratan terjemahan metafora.
